Cross-multiply:

2(r+4) = -18

2r + 8 = -18

    2r = -26

     r = -13

Answer by rfer(16322)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/3=(-3-3)/(r--4)
2/3*(r+4)=-6
2/3r+8/3=-6
2/3r=-6-8/3
2/3r=-18/3-8/3
2/3r=-26/3
r=(-26/3)/(2/3)
r=-26/3*3/2
r=-78/6
r=-13
