To find the x-intercept, put 0 in for y:
2x - y = -7
2x - 0 = -7 {put 0 in for y}
2x = -7 {subtracted 0}
x = -7/2 {divided both sides by 2}
(-7/2 , 0) are the coordinates of the x-intercept

To find the y-intercept, put 0 in for x:
2x - y = -7
2(0) - y = -7 {put 0 in for x}
-y = -7 {multiplied 2 by 0}
y = 7 {divided both sides by -1}
(0,7) are the coordinates of the y-intercept

To find another point, put any number in for x or y
2x - y = -7
2x - 1 = -7 {put 1 in for y}
2x = -6 {added 1 to both sides}
x = -3 {divided both sides by 2}
(-3,1) are the coordinates of another point on the line

Solve for "y":

giving you point (2,11)
