Sometimes the 2 solutions are the same.
sometimes they are real numbers
sometimes they are complex numbers.

5x^2-2x+3
we calculate the discriminant:
b^2-4ac
(-2)^2-4(5)(3)
4-4(15)
4-60
-56
Since the discriminant is negative we conclude that there are
"two complex solutions"
