Question 437276: Write an equation in point slope form of the line that passes through the given points ( -3, 1/2) ; (-7,5/2)
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
-3 0.5 -7 2.5

slope m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) -0.5
m= -0.5

Plug value of the slope and point ( -3 , 0.5 ) in
Y = m x + b
0.50 = 1.5 + b
b= 0.5 1.5
b= -1
So the equation will be
Y = -0.5 x + -1
