Question 436213: Solve equation by factoring x^4+10=7x^2
Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^4+10=7x^2
x^4-7x^2+10=0
.
Let z = x^2
then we can write:
z^2-7z+10=0
(z-2)(z-5)=0
z = {2, 5}
.
but, since z=x^2
x = {sqrt(2), sqrt(5)}
