Question 433275: Is cos^(-1) [cos (-pi/3)] = 1/2? Or is it - pi/3 since the functions are the same? (Cos and cos)?
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is the inverse of the inverse.
cos^-1 of the cos of (Value) = Value
--> it's -pi/3
----------
Because cos(-x) = cos(x), it can also be +pi/3
