(9a³ - 6b² - 8ab) - (5a³ - 9b² + 3ab)
= 9a³ - 6b² - 8ab - 5a³ + 9b² - 3ab {took out parentheses and distributed negative sign}
= 4a³ + 3b² - 11ab {combined like terms}
