Question 427174: have a problem and of course it's like always one number holding me up. It's a long problem but I'm going to send an example then what my problem is if you could tell me where that number is coming from. Example problem is k=Wd^2=(189)(4000)^2=3.024x10^9 step 2 =3.024x10^9/(4550)2 step 3 =146.1. I'm not sure where the 3.024 is coming from. My problem now is k=wd^2=(181)(4000)^2=????x10^9 I'm stuck please help.

3.024x10^9 is just scientific notation for the answer 3,024,000,000
your problem is
answer 2,896,000,000

Does that help?
