Question 425947: My problem question is find the linear function with the following properties f(2)=-10 slope equals -4/3. I have first step -4/3a=-4/3f(2)=-10 second step -10=f(2) third step -10=4/3(2)+b fourth step -10=-8/3+b. Now I'm stuck how to get the answer.  Thanks!

Answer by htmentor(1343)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You have essentially solved the problem.
Just solve for b:
Your 4th step has -10 = -8/3 + b -> b = -10 + 8/3 = -30/3 + 8/3 = -22/3
So the function is
f(x) = (-4/3)x - 22/3
The graph looks like this:
