Here's an example problem that might be a good candidate. However, using a "system of equations" for a soccer problem would be quite difficult to construct. This problem involves two equations, however they are independent of each other.

Suppose you kick a soccer ball with an initial velocity of 8 m/s at an angle of 30 degrees above horizontal. Neglecting air resistance, how far does the ball go? (hint: Find the horizontal and vertical components, and use the formula .).
