Question 422513: I am working on equation of a line in slope-intercept form. One example I don't get is (10,7) are my points and 3/8 is what I am seeing. So it's y-(7)=3/8(x-(10)) then y-7=3\8x-15/4 then y=3/8x-15/4+28/4 then y= 3/8x+13/4 so my question is where does the 15/4 and the 28/4 come from? Thanks!
Answer by MathLover1(20849) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you are given one point (10,7) and a slope ; you need to find equation of a line that goes through given point and has a given slope
So it's
then
.........reduce
..move to the right
.....write as a fraction with denominator so you can subtract from it.....
