Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How would I go about solving y = 5 sin 2(pi)(x) - 2? So that I can graph it?
-------
You know that a sin curve is normally centered on the origin.
Well move it down so its centered at -2.
----
You know how the period is normally 2pi.
Find the period for your curve:
Period = (2pi)/b
Your b is (2pi)
So your period is (2pi)/(2pi) = 1 radian
----
So one cycle of your sin curve starts at x = 0
and ends at x = 1. It then repeats itself to
the right and to the left.
----------------------------------
The amplitude is 5 so the curve is centered
at y= -2 and ranges from y = -7 up to y = 3
-----------------------------------
