a factory needs 2 raw materials, say, E and F. the probability of not having an adequate supply of material E is 0.06, whereas the probability of not having an adequate supply of material F is 0.04. a study shows that the probability of a shortage of both E and F is 0.02. what is the probability of the factory being short of either material E or F?

.04+.02+.02=.08 the probability of the factory being short of either material E or F.
