Let = gallons to be removed from tank a
Let = gallons to be removed from tank b
= gallons of alcohol removed from tank a
= gallons of alcohol removed from tank b

Multiply both sides of (2) by
and subtract (2) from (1)

And from (2),
combine 26 2/3 gallons from tank "a"
with 13 1/3 gallons from tank "b"
