I am totally confused on how to do this, to many explanations on how to write interval notation, but nothing looks like the above problem. The answer I got was (6,x) not sure if correct and do not know how to check it. Thank you for your help.

Think about the limits.
The lower limit is 6 and doesn't include six.
There is no upper limit.

The left parentheses signifies that the number is not inlcuded in the region.
If it was it would have been a "[" bracket instead.
The symbol symbolizes that there is no upper limit.
