x= y-3
x-y =-3....................1
2y= 5x-9
2y-5x=-9...................2
multiply equation 1 by 2
2x-2y=-6
add it to (2)
-3x=-15
/-3
x=5
..
plug value of x in equation 1
5-y=-3
-y=-5-3
-y=-8
y=8
...
the numbers are 5 & 8
