First let's find the area of the patio. It will be:
x(x+3) rewritten as:
x^2+3x
Now find the area of the picnic table.
3 times 6 is:
18
So we subtract 18 from x^2+3x to look like this:
x^2+3x-18
OK there is the polynomial.
