Think about it. This is'nt math as much as it is common sense.
Fill the 7 liter bucket and pour it into the 10 liter bucket.
Fill the 7 liter bucket again and pour it into the 10 liter the rest of the way up.
What's remains in the 7 liter is your 4 liters.
