Question 330167: A worker uses a wheelbarrow to haul 225 lb of brick. The handles are located 4.00 ft from the axle; the center of the load is 1.50 ft from the axle. How much upward force does the worker exert to lift the handles of the wheelbarrow? Express your answer in US units to the nearest tenth of a unit.
Answer by galactus(183)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We know that (Force)*(effort distance)=(load)*(resistance distance)
So, we have F*4=225*(1.5)
F=(225*1.5)/4=84.4 lbs of force to lift the handles.
