Question 321302: The instructor of an introductory computer course wants to make a wall chart of a computer desktop for her students. To make it as realistic as possible she would like the desktop icons to be proportional to the size of her 6 foot x 6 foot chart. If the icons in her PC screen are 3/8 inch x 3/8 inches what should the dimensions of the icons be on the wall chart?
I am not sure of the equation for this. I have been using 3/8=x/72 bur I keep getting 3/8 for an answer and I know that is incorrect. Please help me with the equation.

You can't answer this with any sort of precision. In the first place, she will never be able to make a 6 foot by 6 foot chart look like a realistic computer screen because computer screens are very rarely square. Second, you don't mention the size of the computer screen she is trying to emulate, so there is no way to calculate the required proportion. Sorry.
