Question 236229: An arrow is fired into the air with an initial valocity of 96ft/sec. The hieght of the arrow t seconds after it was shot into the air is given by s(t)=-16t^2 +96t. When should the arrow reach its greatest hieght.
Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
s(t)=-16t^2 +96t
At the vertex, when t = -b/2a
t = -96/-32 = 3 seconds (time at max height)
t = 3
---------
s(3) = -16*9 + 96*3
s(3) = 144 feet max
