Eleven cards are marked with the numbers 1 - 11, shuffled, and 4 cards are then drawn.
a) How many different 4-card hands are possible?
b) How many different 4-card hands contain a number less than 7?

Here is a formula to compute the total number of all possible combinations where n is the number of choices and k is the number of things chosen at a time

n=11 11 cards
k=4 4-card hands
plug them in and the answer is 330
a)330 different hands
b)325 defferent hands hold them
on b i used a program that lists all the possble combinations and them i used excel and found that only 5 that had no number less than 7

7 8 9 11
7 8 10 11
7 9 10 11
8 9 10 11
