Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the first integer increased by twice the second exceeds the third by 10. how many puppies does each dog have?
:
Three consecutive integers; x, (x+1), (x+2)
the equation
x + 2(x+1) = (x+2) + 10
x + 2x + 2 = x + 2 + 10
3x + 2 = x + 12
3x - x = 12 - 2
2x = 10
x =
x = 5, 1st integer
then obviously 6, and 7
