Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y-2x= -6 --> y = 2x-6
2y-x=5
------------
Sub y into the 2nd equation
2(2x-6) - x = 5
4x-12 - x = 5
3x = 17
x = 17/3
-------------
y = 2x-6
y = 34/3 - 6
y = 16/3
