Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the inverse function, if any, of the function f(x)=2x^2-5
-----------------
Procedure:
1st y = 2x^2-5
2nd: Interchange x and y to get:
x = 2y^2-5
3rd: Solve for y"
y^2 = (x+5)/2
y = +/-(x+5)/2
-------------------
The inverse is not a function because there are two y-values for
each x value.
