Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The quantity to find is (1 wall)/(friend's time to finish), which
is the friend's rate of woking
But a question has to be answered first.
How much of the wall did the mason complete in 24 days?
If he can do a whole wall in 30 days, he did 24/30 of a wall in 24 days.
So, there is 6/30 of a wall left for his friend to finish, and he did it
in 5 days. Set up the following ratio:

multiply both sides by

multiply both sides by

The friend could do the whole wall alone in 25 days
