.
A boat travels 200 km straight course at an angle 22^o due east of north.
It then changes course by moving 80 km north before reaching its
destination. Calculate the resultant displacement of the airplane.

A boat or the airplane ?
Or both ?

comment from student : the boat, thank you.
My response : You have a triangle with two side lengths given as 200 km and 80 km
and the angle between them of 180° - 22° = 158°.
Use the cosine law formula to get the length of the third side of the triangle.
It will give the answer to you.

In addition to the theory, clearly explained, you will find there many solved problems, that are your TEMPLATES.
