Problem 1

765 cm^3 ÷ 2.5 cm^3 = 765 ÷ 2.5 = 306
The value 306 has 3 sig figs, but 2.5 has 2 sig figs
We always round to the smallest sig fig count when multiplying or dividing

Therefore 306 rounds to 310 when rounding to 2 sig figs
The 0 in 310 is not a sig fig.

Answer: 310
There are no units since they canceled out

Problem 2

I'm assuming every value is in newtons

45.56 N + 343.9 N + 123.8452 N
(45.56 + 343.9 + 123.8452) N
513.3052 N

We round to the nearest tenth because the value 343.9 is the least accurate among the three original values being added.
This works for addition and subtraction only. This rule is similar to the multiplication and division rule mentioned earlier; however, we look at the number of decimal places and not the sig fig count. We go for the smallest decimal place count, i.e. the least accurate decimal

513.3052 rounds to 513.3

Answer: 513.3 N
