The population of Wilmington is 119,045 and covers a land mass of 41.4 square miles. Can Sunrise Homes build their apartment building? Explain your reasoning and show your work.

The only reasonable arithmetic operations I can make in relation with this post,

is to compare the current population of  119045  people with the capacity limit of

            3000*41.4 = 124200.


But what conclusions can be deduced from it,  in connection with the projected buildings,  is totally unclear to me.

Probably,  if the additional population is below the capacity limit,  then new buildings can be build;
otherwise - NO.


In my view,  this problem can not be considered as a true  Math problem.

Rather,  it is a mental creation of a person who does not know how to get himself  (or herself)  busy.
