Let x be the smaller of the two consecutive odd integers.

Then the larger of them is (x+2).


The equation 

    x + 2 = 2x - 13


Simplify and solve

    2 + 13 = 2x - x

    x      = 15.


ANSWER.  The numbers are 15 and 17.
