Question 1155427: Determine the location and value of the absolute extreme values of f on the given interval, if they exist.
f(x)=12x^2/3 - x on [0,1728]
what is/are the absolute maximum/maxima of f on the given interval?

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The derivative is
12*(2/3)*x^(-1/3)-1 and set that equal to 0.
8x^(-1/3)-1=0
8/x^(1/3)=1
x^(1/3)=8
x=512
at that point, y=12*64-512=256
