Let's make up a couple of random fractions and see if it works:

Say 7/8 and 2/9

We check to see if the quotient of these two fractions 


is the reciprocal of the product of those two fractions.
The product of these two fractions is



and the reciprocal of that product is:



But 36/7 is approximately the decimal 5.142857143
and 63/16 is exactly the decimal 3.9375

So, the statement is false in general.

It's only true if both fraction are either equal to 1 or -1,
For instance, it's true for the two fractions 5/5 and 7/7 or
for the two fractions 9/9 and -13/13, and similar cases.
