Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A woman bought 130kg of tomatoes for ₦52,000.
find cost of each kg of tomatoes
= $400 per kg
She sold half of the tomatoes at a profit of 30%.
65 kg of tomatoes sold for 1.3(400) = $520 per kg, of the half were sold
:
The rest of the tomatoes began to go bad she then reduced the selling price per kg by 12%.
Calculate:
(a) the new selling price per kg.
.12 reduction is .88 * 520 = $457.60 for the other half of the tomatoes
:
(b) the percentage on the entire sales if she threw away 5kg of bad tomatoes.
I am not sure what this means, does it mean what is the percentage of profit?
Profit = (520(65)+457.6(65-5)) - 52000
profit = 9256
* 100 = 17.8% profit
