Question 1112502: Maximize p = x − 7y subject to
2x + y ≥ 8
y ≤ 5
x ≥ 0, y ≥ 0
I know P= unbounded but what does x and y equal? I have already tried 1.5 and 5 and it was incorrect.

Answer by ikleyn(52925)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

Plots 2x + y = 8 (red) and y = 4 (green)

Your feasibility domain is the area of the first quadrant above the red line and below the green line.

It goes infinitely as x ----> infinity, so p = x - 7y grows infinitely: there is NO maximum.
