What is written, is not a Fibonacci-type sequence.
The Fibonacci sequence starts with
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, . . .
(see this Wikipedia article).
There are two equal initial seed values, and the formula starts working from the third term.

The Fibonacci-type sequence would look like this
2, , , 10, , ,,, 110, ,...
Therefore the seventh term is 42.
Asker, you are right, the sequence in the problem is Fibonacci-TYPE, which requires ADDING the TWO PREVIOUS TERMS TO GET THE NEXT TERM.
(Although it is NOT the Fibonacci sequence 1,1,2,3, 5, 8, etc..)
