The area of the lot is 12.2 * 6.5 = 79.3 square meters
:
The area of the base of the cellar is 5.5 * 3.6 = 19.8 square meters
:
The volume of the cellar is 19.8 * 2.4 = 47.52 cubic meters

Note that the volume of a rectangular parallelpiped (the cellar in this case) is
the area of the base times the height(depth)

The area to be covered is 79.3 - 19.8 = 59.5 square meters
