Since the kite is symmetric,
short side + longer side = 32cm
---
longer = shorter + 14 cm

Using labels::
L + S = 32
L - S = 14
----
2L = 46
L = 23 cm (the longer side)
----
S = 32-23 = 9 cm (the shorter side)

By definition, a kite has two pairs of sides.
as you can see in the figure above, and . So, as a formula we can say:
perimeter ..........eq.1
where:
is the length of each side in one pair
is the length of each side in the other pair
if given that the length of one of its sides is than the length of another, we have
