Combine like terms:
8x + 2x = 10x
10x - 11 = 59
Add 11 to each side of the equation.
10x - 11 + 11 = 59 + 11
Combine like terms:
-11 + 11 = 0
59 + 11 = 70
Therefore:
10x = 70
x = 7

Answer:
x = 7
