Question 134782: Okay, I have a percentage equation. It says:
The price of a hammer increased by 25% and became $8.00. What was the original price of the hammer?
I did 25/100=8/x and cross-multiplied. Then I had 800=25x. I divided by 25 and got x=32, which meant the original price was $32, which is impossible because it increased to be $8. Please help me!
