Question 946461: Will someone solve and explain this question:
Q: A garrison has enough food to last for 24 days. How much longer will the food last if each individual ration can be reduced by 20% ?

Answer by Fombitz(32388)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Rate x Time = Total Output
So they're eating at 100% rate or R for 24 days.
So the Total Output they are consuming is,

So they have amount of food.
Now if instead of using at rate R, they reduce it by 20%, then the new R,

You still have the same amount of food, find the new time.

They could hold out for 30 days by reducing rations 20%.
