Question 937022: Can you please help me solve this problem. I have already tried it several time but the answers that I come up with do not make sense. You find a watch for $50. It is on sale for 20% off. The tax rate is 6%. How much do you have to pay for the watch?
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
on sale for 20% off...paying 80%
= $40
80% of $50 = $40
....
$40 + tax = How much do you have to pay
$40 + .06(40) = $40.00 + $2.40 = $42.40, How much do you have to pay.
