Question 891451: 40%of the population if a town are men and 39%are women if the number of children is 12600find the no of men
Answer by LinnW(1048)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The % that are children is 1-(0.40+0.39) = 0.21
So the ratio of men to children is 40/21
Set x = the number of men

cross products gives us
21x = 40*12600
21x = 504000
divide each side by 21
x = 24000
