The price of oil is increased by 25%.But the family can increase the expenditure of oil by 15 % only.By what % should the family reduce the consumption of oil?

If the family spends $100 now an increase of 15% would be $115
so they can only buy $115
so they can only buy 92%
let's say the family can afford $115
1.25x=115
which is 92
Let's say the family uses $200
so an increase of 15% would be $230
1.25*184=230
so they are using 8% less or 184
