Question 882706: 99% of the people in a room are men. How many men would have to leave the room in order for this percentage to decrease to 98%? It is known that the number of women in the room is 3.
Answer by Fombitz(32388) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1% of the room is women.
There are 300 people in the room originally, 3 of them women, 297 of them men.
When the men go to 98%, the women will be at 2%.
So then the total population will be 150 people, 3 of them women, 147 men.
So then,
150 men have to leave the room.
