Answer by usyim88hk(158) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, find out the speed he was last year:
50meters/100seconds = 0.5m/s
Then find out the speed of him now:
(0.5m/s)((1+0.25)/1)
=(0.5m/s)(5/4)
=(0.625m/s)
So now we can find the speed of the swimmer now
(50m)/(0.625m/s)
=80sec
So now he swim 50 meters for 80 seconds
Answer by amalm06(224) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Speed last year: 0.5 m/s, since velocity is measured in m/s.
Speed this year: (0.5)(1.25) = 0.625 m/s
Time this year: (1/0.625)(50)=80 s (Answer)
