55% of some total amount is 1671
What does that mean?
55%=.55
"% of" generally means multiply
"some total amount"
let's call it x
"is" means =
.55x=1671
x=1671/.55
Use your calculator
hint .55 is a little more than .50 which is half.
so x is almost double 1671
