Your weekly paycheck is 15 percent less than your coworker's. Your two paychecks total 880. Find the amount of each paycheck.

Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the coworker's pay check c.

Call your paycheck y. y is 15% less than c, which is c(1-.15) or y=.85c

Their sum is 880. c + .85c = 880

1.85c = 880

c=880/1.85 = 475.68

y = 475.68 * .85 = 404.32
