Let the numbers be x and y. We need to find the ratio of the first number to the
second i.e. x/y
30% of first number = 30%*x = 0.3*x
When added to second number y, it becomes 
When added, y becomes 140% i.e. 1.4*y
So we have the equation 
Moving y to left side


Ratio of the first number to the second is
