Question 766125: A DVD player cost 11 times as much as a radio.if both items costs $ 3000,find the cost of radio

Let cost of the radio be R
As DVD costs 11 times as much as radio, cost of the DVD = 11*R
Both of them costs $ 3000.
Thus, 11*R + R = 3000
12*R = 3000
R = 3000/12 = 250.
Hence, cost of the radio = $ 250.
