Question 746404: Elsa bought a DVD player for $104. the cost includes a 20% discount. What was the cost of the DVD player before the discount. please explain?
Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When dealing with a discount % the formula is x*(1-D) = P where x is the original price, D is the discount %, and P is the new price.

For this problem: x*(1-.2) = 104

.8x = 104

x = 104/.8 = 130
